Deadmau5 & Kaskade: I Remember (Stratus Remix)

Stratus is the one local up and coming artist that I have been the most anxious to hear more from. He hits bass junkies with his distinct sound and style that you just can't possibly get enough of. The first 5 track album "Planetary" is dank as hell and the reason the word Stratus is embedded in my brain; the second one "Soulflex" might have been even danker and made me realize that the future will bring more wickedly wicked tunes, therefore, more puckery expressions and smiles on my face :); and the remixes never fail to impress. Here is the most recent dank-remix of a song we should have all heard by now.

Modjo: Rollercoaster

A house classic by classic house artist Modjo.
Great to bike to!

17 - Modjo-rollercoaster

Bassnectar: Upside Down

We needed our Nectar fix and our prayers were answered with a new release from Bassnectar's new album Divergent Spectrum (comes out Aug. 22)
Lorin gets so nasty with this new track that you can't even tell in which direction you are facing. This will push you backwards and forwards and flip you upside down, so brace yourselves.

Emancipator: Remixes

Buy the Emancipator Remixes right meow. Very chill.

Opiuo: Glottal Blunts (Freddy J Got Sparked Remix)

I got mad blunts to spark. So does Freddy J.

Nero: Promises (Skrillex & Nero Remix)

I often find myself hating on Skrillex because of the way he looks, the way he moves/nods his head on stage, and because I get kind of tired of his trademark sounds, but I must say, there is something inside of me and I'm sure every other Skrillex hater that enjoys listening to his stuff.
Pretty tight Skrillex and Nero remix of "Promises". Better than the original. Enjoy.

Mellowhype: 64

What a video/song. Evil is the perfect word for both. Mellowhype spit venom, breathe ozone and have snakes slithering around them. Not to be reckoned with. They continue to do what they do best which is killing beats and putting tracks (and great grandmothers) in stitches.
Much credit to director Matt Alonzo and to Hodgy Beats for coming up with the video concept. Check this shit out and stay tuned for more from the OFWGKTA collective.

Borgore: Glory Hole

 H3r3'5 a n1c3 litt3 v1d30 0f s0m3 h0t d4ncing ch1ck5. Oh and a clip of glory hole by Borgore.

Downlink: Deep Space

Downlink was born and raised a neglected filthy animal in the depths of the universe which is why he comes back to Earth with a vengeance and uses his bass morphing powers to make everything in sight his prey. Welcome to D e e p  S p a c e, a place that is what this song sounds like.

Ajapai & Adroa: Decimation

Ajapai & Adroa enter our atmosphere fearlessly with their bass cannons to decimate the human population. That's right. Flux isn't the only one with a bass cannon...

Justin Timberlake and Madonna: 4 minutes (Love and Light Remix)

Holy chewbacka. I only heard the Roxanne remix by Love and Light and wasn't exactly blown away. This time, I am blown the fuck away.  The "4 minutes" remix was already sounding scorching hot before I had a chance to put my headphones in, then when I did my Vesuvius ERUPTED . Dubstep am's (amateurs) may not appreciate this the way it should be because they don't understand the meaning or fundamentals of having an awesomely sick style of producing (or they may know whats good and like it...). To any new dubberz, this is what you want to hear: sick buildup, even sicker (and catchy) drop, and multiple narsty crisp bass sounds taking turns at buzzing throughout your brain in a non annoying way. If you don't like this you're weak and you don't know shit.

Gramatik: So Much For Love

"Good Music is felt, not heard"

Just snooping around on the world wide web and oooh boy when I saw that beautiful word that began with a "G" my heart nearly skipped a beat. Gramatik finally has something on the internet that is downloadable and for the free!!! It makes me so happy to know that Gramatik is still doing his thing and coming out with new music that makes you want to groove harder than Calculus. I wasn't sure if he was even alive, so this is good. The single "So Much For Love" off his new album "Beatz & Pieces" (coming out on July 12th) is-as always-funky as a mother and uses all the right sounds. The use of vocals and live instruments in Gramatiks songs is to keep the listener feeling the funk all the way through the song, because he "felt that classic hip-hop beats without vocals lose (him) after two minutes." That is exactly what he does : Keeps the listener listening.
Gramatik deserves his own playlist.

So much for love!

Tipper: Wobble Factor

Tipper brings you..... Wobble Factor. Don't let the word wobble confuse you. This is no dubstep. This is glitch, breakbeat, and a variety of interesting sounds and influences that I find difficult to categorize.
To see what I mean, listen to these songs real quick and tell me that didn't put a "what the" look on your face. Lol. I know I'm late by like 2 years shut the fuck up.

The Weeknd: What You Need (Chris B Remix)

The original was sexy. The dubstep remix is sexy AND banging. Sexy makes you want to bang, so it all works out. Chris B goes hard as a raging African lion's boner on this remix, yet he goes soft as a panda's belly as well. Don't worry. It works. Aaliyah definitely gets a large chunk of credit for coming out with Rock the Boat's the timeless sample (gets me every time). Time to listen.

VibeSquaD: Sleaze Me

VibeSquaD never disappoints or bores his audience. His new single "Sleaze Me" keeps booty's shaking, arms flailing, feet werkin, frogs jumping, and everything in constant motion. It's not actually brand new, I'm a little late on this one by about 3 and a half months...which means nothing because you probably haven't heard it anyways. Look out for the dope "yes" samples at the end. Keep an eye open for VibeSquaD. You never know when he'll hit us with some more funk-tronic bassss.

Opiuo: Slurp and Giggle

Opiuo is just one funky and dirty minded son of a gun. I was originally just going to post "Water Mouth" but since I could only find the download link for the album I decided to push the whole album instead of just the song. Bottom line is although several of these may sound similar to one another all of these tracks are fun and take you on a bass trip that you will remember.
Opiuo is surely a name to remember if you are big in the bass music scene. I doubt you'll forget it after hearing some of this scrumptious glitch.

Break Science: Moment 4 Life (Remix)

Break Science gives Nicki Minaj a bass lift.

Excision & Downlink: Blue Steel

Just give me a hot minute to find/fix my eardrums and place my brain back in it's socket.
Children, go somewhere far far away. This is not for you. This extreme banger came off Excisions X Sessions Vol. 1 Mix and instantly made me and everyone I was with poop our pants. This is that shit that makes you want to run red lights at full speed while laughing like a mad scientist without caring about what is coming. If I get in a bike accident sometime soon, I can tell you right now it probably wasn't the car drivers fault just as much as it wasn't mine. Excision and Downlink are to blame. Really though what I'm trying to say is that this is a killer track (almost literally) and that you should CRANK THIS SHIT AT FULL VOLUME OR YOU"RE DOING IT WRONG! Do it. But wear a helmet.

The Killabits: Don't Wanna Let Go

Pretty sick tune by The Killabits. They went a slightly heavier than usual... I like :)

The Weeknd: House of Balloons

Meet Toronto based R&B singer Abel Tesfaye, better known as The Weeknd. I heard them for the first time several weeks ago and was slightly confused as to what I was listening to. Is is R&B/soul? Is it dubstep? I would not call this dubstep. I would call it R&B with some bass. Whatever it is, it's very sexy, smooth and makes you want to want to make sweet love to that special someone. Here are a couple of songs off the oh so sexy album "House of Balloons"that are sure to get your panties wetter than Lake Superior. Free download at the bottom. Get to it.

J Dilla: Two Can Win (Freddy Todd Remix)

Anyone who loves hip hop praises J Dilla and anyone who loves both hip hop and dubstep will praise this remix by Detroit's electronic music guru Freddy Todd.
This remix preserves the original tone of the vocal sample in J Dilla's "Two Can Win" but chops it up a bit and adds some dubby bass to make it an all around fresh tune that will make your oranges look brown... what? Please stop reading this nonsense and do what you are here to do...listen. Not read.
No free download unfortoonately, but you can buy it for the dollar!

Grateful Dead: Truckin (Freddy Todd's Bootleg Retwist Tribute)

Grateful Dead dub... Who would have thunk this would ever happen. It has in fact came to exist, and it's actually a lot of fun. Grateful Dead and Freddy Todd's little bass elves play together in the funhouse and take turns playing offense. Anyone who likes Grateful Dead and dubstep might pre-cum a smidgen on your computer, so keep your pants on. Or off... Whichever you like. Either way, enter the fun house and play along with GD and the bass elves. :)

Getter & Sluggo: In Cold Blood

There is dubstep. Then there is Gorestep.
The only thing that makes is different is... heaviness. That's right. Grittier, intensified, scarier, more hazardous dubstep that is detrimental to your well being. This song makes you feel like you're laying, paralzyed, helpless, in cold blood. Not really but it's safe to say this one is darker than your average dubstep song. Now fuck off.

Feed Me: Strange Behaviour (ft. Tasha Baxter)

There's something about Feed Me's sound/texture that gets me every tune. It's along the lines of fierce and fresh. The beginning is perfect and left me-which I'm assuming will leave you- wanting more. Then the vocals kind of kill it, but the bass drop gets the party going again.
Ere iz strange behaviour.

STS9: Peaceblaster (The New Orleans Make it Right Remixes)

One word followed by seven more to describe this album: WOW/This is my favorite album right now.
I was transferring some of my old music from my old laptop to my new(er) one and was in a state of disbelief after coming across what I came across. It almost hurts to think that I had such great music in my music library that I never even knew about.
After finally listening to and seeing STS9 KILL IT at Summer Camp, I realize how awesome they are and due to this have been really into them lately. STS9=awesome. Simple and plain. And these remixes....these extremely chill, funky, spiritual, and in a nutshell amazing remixes just proved it way more. Trippy scientific bass experimentation, enchanting sounds, mutations, and plenty of other words describe what this album makes me think of, but why should I waste my time writing down random words when you could buy the album and listen to these jamtastic funkadelic remixes yourself!? Naw mean?
You can't possibly turn down remixes by Big Giganitc, The Glitch Mob, Alex B, Daedelus, Pretty Lights, Nosaj Thing, Bass Science, Captain Crunk, Eliot Lipp, Eskmo, and other prime artists who get down with the boogie down. Still looking for a song I don't like, but I'm convinced I wont find one.
Here's just a couple of my favorites...not all of them. Just a couple.

STS9 vs. Prefuse 73 (Megaloid MPC Vet Mixxx)

Wacka Flocka: Hard in Da Paint (Bellizio Remix/Crizzly Edit)

Damn. This bassline has got me bumping in my room alone. Nothing really too new... Bellizio/Crizzly go hard in da muthafuckin paint on this banging ass remix of the respectable Wacka Flocka's "Hard in da Paint". At first you can't really tell that it's a remix, but that all changes at 0:26 seconds when the bass just sharts all over the place. This is a fun one to jam out to in the whip with the homies on some drunk shit, not that I've done that, but because I bet it would be fun to jam out to in a car with some homies, on some drunk shit. With that said, WACKA!

HIGH POWERED BOYS: Udon (Julio Bashmore Remix)

I heard this one for the first time after Volcano seshin it out and I instantly fell in love. I heard it off Grown Folk's new "Collection No. 5" house mix and searched through the tracklist while frantically skipping through the mix until I found what I wanted to find.
To me there are certain sounds and styles that allow me float up to my own little cloud 9, and this is one of those sounds/styles; one so simple yet so appropriate. This is the perfect lay back, sip your drink/hit your J lounge tune. House music at its purest.

Excision & Datsik: 8 Bit Superhero

There is a reason why Excision & Datsik are a great duo. That reason is because they are Canadian. I felt like Mario beating up bloopers while listening to this video gamey sounding track, a feeling I always wished I could live. This one isn't as filthy as some tracks they've worked on in the past, but it still gets the job done. Hit up the free DL ya hear?

Afghan Raiders: Tunnel Vision (Mustard Pimp Remix)

Mustard Pimp gets right to it with this one. It's hard to pass this one up after listening to it for one second. The bass drum repeatedly punches your face while the pins and needles synth things leave you dazed and confused as to what just hit you. Then at 15 seconds shit just gets funky as hell for a second. Fast Forward a bit and the main bassline comes in to destroy everything on the dancefloor. Mustard Pimp kills it again.
`
The End.

Adele: Rolling in the Deep (Deathstar Remix Feat. MartParty & Minnesota)

Adele gives dubstep boners. No mater what she does, producers, remixers, or whatever you want to call them, are always jumping at a shot to take her voice and put it to the test with some bASSSSS. Adele and dubstep is like fire & ice, a solar eclipse, a fire breathing peacock, etc.
Here is yet another remix of Adele's Rolling in the Deep, this time by professors MartyParty and Minnesota (who's actually from Santa Cruz, a hot place in the west, not Minnesota, a cold place basically in Canda) who are experts in their field of party dubbage, not so much the alien invading end of world robotic dubbage. I'd have to say that I like this remix more than the Samples VIP.
Since I don't know what else to write....

Botnek: Dozer

Botnek destroys the dance floor and feeds the bass hungry ravers with some booty shaking bass.
Fun tune. Break it down.

Adele: Rolling in the Deep (Samples VIP Remix)

Samples wasn't satisfied enough with his first remix of Adele's "Rolling in the Deep". He had to make another one, but more glitch heavy and VIP worthy. Crank those decibels and enjoy Adele's beautiful voice with Sample's grungy bass.

Alice Deejay: Better Off Alone (Lymph Project Remix)

Super duper chill remix by Lymph Project of the classic by Alice Deejay.
Smooth synths and sweet melodies.
i miss you more than you will ever know

Paper Diamond: Power (Kanye West)

Paper Diamond aka Alex B threw the EFF down at Summer Camp! He put on an amazing set that I wish I remembered more of... One of the few songs I remember being played (I tend to forget every song played at live shows) was the Power remix by PD of course. I bet Kanye has been rocking out to this one! This is an incredibly sick remix that is sure to make you and your grandma eat applesauce together!!!!! Just kidding she'd probably have a heart attack.
ENJOY and keep an ear open for Paper Diamond!!!

Requake: Arma Bass VIP

Bump this and be prepared for Requake's fury. Be careful not to bump this one more that you think you can handle, for it will make you deficate your trowsers without your knowledge of it even happening. Arma Bass VIP has old classic dubstep sounds (like Skream) as well as some more modern heavy hitting, mechanical dubstep sounds.

Skrillex: All I Ask of You (12th Planet Remix)

12th Planet's remix of "All I Ask of You" by big bitch Skrillex, (who blamed his messing up during a live performance at SummerCamp on Ableton) definately blows the original out of the water. Thank you 12th Planet for making the overly pansey original into a chaotic womp party that will make you throw bows and bounce like kangaroo.

Dubsidia: Kill Humans

Dubsidia doesn't like us.
Kill Humans.

C99: Wobby Blobby

C99 gets foreign with this bouncy alien like dub-bomb. No. Not foreign. Extraterrestrial.
Plenty of interesting switch ups and cool extraterrestrial sounds that make you feel like Aliens are performing oral surgery on you, without anesthetics, all while womping out. Not the most relaxing scenario. Tell Houston I think we have a problem..
