I wouldn't even know how to categorize Chris Clark's music. Here is my half assed attempt. Clark experiments with breakbeat/jazz drumming, unique synths and other very cool instrumentality resulting in an extraterrestrial sound that I haven't heard before. If you like Aphex Twin, or if you have an open mind, or enjoy trippy, dark industrial/"under the train tracks" type of music, I'm sure you will appreciate this. If you don't I will find you and tickle you. Watch the first 2 videos below. Good stuff.

Grizzly Bear: Ready, Able
I'm not big on indie music, and I may be a little late in the game, but I must say that I very much enjoyed listening to the super chill album Veckatimest by Grizzly Bear. I highly recommend you download it and listen to it either on your way to wherever it is you go or while sleeping. If you haven't seen/heard this video, do it.

Filthies by: Sluggo & Nerd Rage, Crizzly, Eptic, Liquid Stranger & Sluggo
Filthies. Nuffsed.
What goes up must come down, and what starts off soft must become hard. Ok not necessarily, but in this case that saying I just invented applies. Bask in the filthy war machine malfunction remix by Sluggo & Nerd Rage.
Crizzly doing what he does. Goin' hard

Abakus: Diametric
After listening to some of the illest downtempo/glitchy industrial electronic music I have probably ever heard, I was on a quest to find more greatness by Abakus. I wasn't able to find the track I had in mind, but nonetheless listening this one left me just as satisfied. Peep this super sick video and let it take you on a trip like no other you've been on.

Wicked Downtempo/Psychill/Dubstep from Phutureprimitive: Kinetik (album)
The majority of the dubstep that people (not including myself of course, but even some of what I listen to) listen to fucking blows. Don't get me wrong, there is plenty pf remarkable steppage out there, but like I said, the majority is overrated and doesn't contain much musical value. However, there are always those hard to find electronic/dubstep gangsters that blow you away and make you wonder why they aren't more well known. I have just added one more member to my mental encyclopedia of electronic/dubstep gangsters, and that member, is Phutureprimitive of Portland, Oregon. As Tony P. described in his album review:
"This isn’t a random gathering of clicks, clacks, bangs and booms. This is a thoughtful production using steady rhythms, rich symphonic sounds a-la heavy dubstep, yet keeping a downtempo vibe. The songs are epic soundscapes drawing vivid images while simultaneously pulling at your emotions. The music manages to be relaxing and motivating at the same time. It’s a score to a movie in your mind."
With that said, here are a few of my personal favorites off the album. You'll dig them just as much as I did.

Mux Mool: A taste of "Planet High School" (album)
I am counting down the minutes for Mux's new Planet High School album release, which drops on February 7th. This video just makes me all the more anxious for time to fly and for me to be able to finally spend some alone time with this album, although I will most likely be alone anyways, since my roommate just moved out (eloel). This video directed by the amazing Charles Bergquist captures the beauty of life in slowed down time behind one of Mux's new super chill remarkable tracks off this album ('The Butterfly Technique'). Set your calendars for February the 7th. You do not want to miss out on this. In the meantime, enjoy the video.

Mowgli: I Gotta Feeling
House Music. You just can't go wrong with it. No matter who you are or where you play it, including a tribe in Papua New Guinea people will move. This track by Mowgli is pure funkadelic goodness. Everything about this track is on point and I can't get enough of it. Throw this one on the ipod and turn up the volume to start your day off the right way.
Lucky Date & Midnight Conspiracy: Veyron (Night Version)
Wow. Lucky Date and Midnight Conspiracy snapped uber hard style on this track. You can tell it's going to be good from the beginning. It starts off with a cool 'hollow tube in water' sound and then eases into a chill synthy build-up with a vocal sample from an apparently bored and horny hot sounding chick. Once you hear the increasing siren like sound, you should get prepared for the drop to splatter bass all over your face. If this drop had bass genitals, I would perform oral on it with a smile on my face. Even if you're not into dubstep you will probably dig this. So go ahead and dig it already.
Buy on Beatport or download for the free!

A$AP Rocky: Pretty Flacko
I haven't bothered listening to current rap because it hasn't done much for me. The rap that comes out nowadays, in my opinion, is overplayed, overrated, overhyped. I like aggressive, evil bangin ass beats with crisp swagged out sounding instrumentals behind wicked flows. Some shit I can wang in the whip (my parent's whip...) or while smoking a fatty blunt that makes me feel like the gangster that I'm not. Thank the lawd for A$AP Rocky, the new trill young Ea$t Coa$t rapper steady making fresh tracks. Dude is on Beast Mode. Big ups to spaceghostpurrp on the beat. Wang this and get paper.
Round Table Knights: Calypso EP
Round Table Knights have got that groove that forces you to move. The house duo from Switzerland mix in their different musical likings to bring us some spectacular house jams. Everything I have heard from them is golden. If you like you some Latin/Caribbean flavor, you will love this stuff.
They are on my list of favorite house DJ's. They will be on your list too. Here's the Calypso EP.
Bump it and get jiggy widdit.

Ill Instrumentals- fLako: The First Space Shit on the Moon
Honestly don't waste your time reading this. I'm bored and I need to kill time, so I'm writing, to kill time.
So I'm kicking it at the crib right, lil sis on da couch watching "Beyond Scared Straight", I'm sittin at the table doing the usual, downloading music, rockin out, trying to make new playlists- which can be very stressful -and making CD's for a couple of folks in my dad's office. I'm trying to switch it up a bit, so I've been looking up tunes from all different genres. I went to my Ill Instrumental's playlist and clicked on a 12 minute mix from Paul Pre, a German swagmaster that puts together the sickest mixes your ears heard every month. Until today I thought the beats on his mixes were produced by him, but I guess they're not -_-. After researching the mix a bit I found that the artist responsible for having these back to back dope beats on the mix was UK's swaglord fLako, renowned as one of Europe's best producers, apparently. I love me some instrumentals, and I might have just found my new favorite instrumentalist, up there with J Dilla, Flying Lotus, Gramatik and Mux Mool. Also, I like that the tracks are short, some under a minute.
Here are my favorites off the 30 track album.
The Up Wind
Dwarf Dance
Hump
Footprints
Ring Di

Filthies by: Heist, Rough Draft Dubstep, Adroa, Persist
Here go a couple choons to cherrorize those things responsible for our "hearing".
Blurgh.
Heist: Survivor
Evil. Just like daddy.
Haezer: James Bond (Rough Draft Dubstep Remix)
It didn't take a dubstep master to make this one, but it still does the trick. Lock & load.
Adroa:Swamp Bass
This is probably my favorite of the 4. Definitely my favorite of the 4 actually. Ribbit bitches, we gettin froggy up in this piece.
Persist: Blam
I just think of homeless looking monsters taking turns vomiting out the ass in some disease infested alley. That's just me.

Diplo: Summer's Gonna Hurt You (2010 Dubstep Remix)
The album "Florida" by Diplo really got to my emotions, particularly the masterpiece track Summer's Gonna Hurt You, and every time I listen to the original version I get mild flashbacks of a very special time and the person responsible for making it so special. Listening to the original takes me to an imaginary place that I don't even know how to begin to describe and makes me wish I was still lucky enough to be with that beautiful person. Anyways, here is Diplo's chill dubstep version of this gem. Let these sounds and the brilliant sample of 'Rare Bird's' Beautiful Scholar take you there. Enjoy it.

Excision, Downlink & Ajapai: Before The Sun
Jesus H. Christ. I know what you're thinking. Excision, Downlink, AND Ajapai? On ONE track!? It is madness, but true madness. This one's going to cost the government a couple hundred billy to repair the damages it caused. Honestly don't even turn this up all the way it's bad for your ears.
For you Chicago cats who are going to be in town on January 13th, Downlink and CENOB1TE will be throwing down hard at the Logan Square Auditorium. Click hurr for ticket info.
Unreal tracks Strip Steve & Das Glow: Calcium; Snake Abs; Lite Brite
Strip Steve and Das Glow together have put together some of the best electro tracks I have ever heard in my 19 years on this planet that we call Earth. If Aliens living in galaxies that we couldn't even find with telescopes were to make dirty electro I'm pretty sure this is what it would sound like. These two are either Aliens, take some really really really really good drugs, or are just natural electro geniuses. Here are 3 tracks that I am obsessed with and that I will never get enough of ...ever. You could put me in a straight jacket tightly strapped down to a bed of nails or have three sumo wrestlers hold me down and I would still have a hard time staying still. Many pray to God, Jesus, Buddah, Michael Jackson but as of now, I'm praying to Strip Steve and Das Glow to continue coming out with such great material.
Audiomachine: Guardians At The Gate (Access Denied Dubstep Edit)
While watching a video of Michael Jordan and Derrick Rose being the ballers that they are (pun intended) I couldn't help but be blown away by the background music. Now, when many people see or hear something cool, they call it "epic", although what they're really trying to call it is something along the lines of "dope", "wicked", the list goes on. Little do they know, they are shamefully misusing the word, for not everything that is cool or wicked or dope or rad or sweet or badass is necessarily "epic". When we use the word epic, we should be referring to heroes and almighty Gods that have done some really epic shit in their time or epic battles between ancient armies, & shit like that. After listening to this remix, it is safe to say that this is actually Epic. The way I like to think of it is when the drop drops, Hell's forces storm heaven's gate and the battle begins.
Local Womps from the ill ridden streets of Chi-Town
I love it when I hear dank tunes coming out of Chicago. Just another reason to be proud of where I'm form. Here are a couple fire tunes chopped up by a couple of the Big Onion's minions.
Meet Cesar Hidalgo, A.K.A. SubLiminal, a friend of a friend who just came out with this killer track. This will make children across the state of Illinois cry and have nightmares. Success.
Black (Original Mix) Free DL by SubLiminal
Once again Stratus coming out with some more dankness. Everything this dude touches is pure sex. I lowkey got a boner halfway through the song. Plug in your headphones and you'll see what I'm talking about.
Them Raptors by Stratus
I was listening to this and then all of a sudden had to take a massive dump. I blame Nameloc for causing me to take this dump. This tune made me literally shit. Uge.
Nameloc - Ever After by Nameloc
Imprintz & Kloe
Imprintz & Kloe of Lyon, France have some of the nastiest Drum&Bass I've heard, some of which is almost too nasty for most too handle, but they can also throw down some dope ass shakeable Electro Hau5 bangers. Here are a few of my personal faves from the married couple. This stuff will get you rollin. Sick shit.
Humanoid
Bulldog
Waltztronic
Stinking in Earth
It's Time
Can't forget about the epic D&B they got out. Here be "Last Breath" remixed by Exorcist.
Rekchampa: Pocket The Rest (album)
ATL's Rekchampa emits those sexy chill ambient vibes that make you want to get high inside on a rainy day and rub up against your woman's skin. Rekchampa experiments with sexy vocal samples, soothing textures and 2-step garage rhythms (Post-Dubstep, if you will) to bring you some very smooth tasty music that will leave you thirsty for more. This 9-track album is definitely worth every penny of the 5 bucks of which it costs. Dis b sum good stuff foaks. Do the right thing and click that link down below. I'll be having another post on this guy coming up soon, and it will be free downloads, so you can just pocket the rest. Get it? aahaha..ok i have no life.
